Gaylord Schanilec (born 15 April 1955) is a notable American wood engraver. Working out of his studio in Stockholm, Wisconsin Schanilec has used traditional wood engraving processes to create illustrations for hundreds of works.[1][2]
He graduated with a BA in visual arts from the University of North Dakota in 1977. He worked in the Twin Cities until he relocated to just outside Stockholm, Wisconsin, where he built the studio in which he now works.
